First of all, a big THANK YOU to The Quill for nominating my blog for Liebstar Award 2020. A nomination like this always makes blogging more fun and encouraging.

There is one thing that I realised while submitting my response to the nomination. That it is way more easier to answer than to frame questions for the next set of nominees. Anyway, you got to follow the rule. Which brings me to the part where I let you know about the simple rules you need to follow for the Liebstar Award.

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  2. Answer the 11 questions given to you
  3. Nominate 11 bloggers
  4. Ask your nominees 11 questions
  5. Notify your nominees once you have uploaded your post

The Quill asked me some thought provoking questions. I tried my level best to come up with answers. Here they are :

If you could describe your view of life in just one color – which color would that be, and why?

GREY. To me, white symbolises positivity. Whereas, black points to negativity and utter darkness. And I stand somewhere in between these two territories. That’s why, grey.

Imagine that you keep a journal, and one day it suddenly began to think for itself. What would it have to say about you?

It would say, ‘Moumita, please don’t be so shy to your own journal for God’s sake. You can put down your thoughts here without any fear or shame. I promise to stand by you whatever you have to say. And I definitely won’t judge you.’

You have a job – to christen a recently discovered star. What would you name it, and what does that name mean to you?

SNOOPY M. That would be the name of the star. Right now this name means the world and much more than that to me.

If you could go back in time (any point in the past) and experience the locale of your choice for exactly an hour, what would you choose to explore?

I would like to go back to the township where I used to stay during my first job in Odisha. The natural beauty surrounding the township while taking an early morning walk on weekends would be worth to explore.

If you could be an exception to a rule, which rule would that be?

Gaining wisdom without facing any odd experiences.

What does freedom mean to you?

To me, freedom is the ability to take your own decision and the liberty to make mistakes without being answerable to anyone.

You can grant one boon to your childhood self. Would you trust their choice or decide for yourself what to give them? And what would that be?

To know what I really want to do. With this boon I believe, my childhood self would have grown up into a much better version than what I am in today’s date.

How did you choose the name of your blog?

I like the cartoon character Snoopy. This explains the first part of my blog’s name. And M stands for the first letter of my name(Moumita). That’s how SNOOPY M came into existence. There was no serious brainstorming while deciding the blog’s name. For my experience in blogging has taught me that ultimately what you write in your blog matters; the name doesn’t. However, I wanted the name to be short, simple and an easy one to remember.

What is the one big question regarding this world that puzzles you the most?

Is there really anything called Supreme Power?

Give a word (preferably in your regional language) that truly speaks to you, and if there’s a story to it, do tell!

ধুত্তেরি (that’s how it’s written in my regional language which is Bengali) or dhutteri. This word   actually has no meaning in English and is only used to express frustration, anger or disgust. There is no story as such surrounding it. But I get the divine opportunity to speak out this word loud and clear more often. And I give the full credit to my crazy family for bestowing me with this honour.

Is there a technology, principle or belief that you think can change the world for the better without any side effects? If the answer is no, do you think humanity – at any point in time – will be capable of designing such a system?

Technology that can detect hunger would be a game-changing innovation. NGOs and other non-profitable organisations if equipped with this technology can do more for the poor and needy people then. I truly believe the way technology is advancing day by day, it would not be impossible to come out with such an application or device. This noble innovation ideally should be free of side-effects unless it falls on the hands of a corrupted individual or group.

My questions to the nominees :

  1. Name one thing/person that/who makes your life complete (or would have made complete).
  2. Did the pandemic bring any positive change inside you?
  3. How do you intend to grow your blog further?
